Otsuka Shokai plans 2,100 packs of adult diapers for Kumamoto relief

Japan

Otsuka Shokai announced support for communities affected by the 2026 Kumamoto earthquake on August 7. The company planned to donate 2,100 packs of adult diapers and 4,800 two-litre bottles of water to local governments in the affected areas through its Tanomail office-supply service and Personal Tanomail consumer service. It also planned additional assistance with partner companies.

For financial support, Otsuka Shokai said it would match the value of customer Happy Point donations and send the contributions to the Japanese Red Cross. Happy Points are awarded for purchases through the two services, with one point equivalent to one yen. The company's Heartful Fund, a matching-gift programme involving group employees and the company, would donate a further ¥1 million.

The announcement also offered special repair terms for disaster-damaged equipment covered by its maintenance service. Eligible repairable computers, peripherals and multifunction devices would receive free technical labour. The arrangement covered designated disaster-relief areas in Kumamoto and accepted requests until October 31, 2026.
