Meerlanden seeks partners for a diaper and incontinence-waste recycling plant

Netherlands

Meerlanden published a call for partners on May 19, 2026 for a proposed plant to process used baby diapers and incontinence products in the Amsterdam region.

The company describes a planned annual capacity of 30,000 tonnes and a process drawing on technology used at ARN in Weurt. It is seeking sufficient feedstock from municipalities and private institutions, while developing the site and business case.

Incontinence waste is expressly included, rather than inferred from a general diaper reference. The stated capacity is a project target: the page makes clear that further steps are required before the facility can exist, and does not report operating throughput.
