North London waste authority reports parliamentary discussion of hygiene-product waste

United Kingdom

North London Waste Authority reported on March 2, 2026 that it and Policy Connect had convened a parliamentary discussion on nappy waste at the House of Lords.

The authority places adult incontinence and menstrual products within the wider absorbent-hygiene waste issue. Participants discussed separate processing, recycling research, producer responsibility and waste prevention. NappiCycle presented its use of recovered diaper material in road-surfacing applications.

Adult products are part of the scope, but much of the discussion concerned children’s nappies and toilet training. The meeting is a policy discussion, not enacted legislation or confirmation of a new adult-incontinence recycling service.
