Lenzing announced two additions to its Lyocell Dry fiber range on November 5, 2024: a fine fiber for denser nonwovens and a coarse fiber for more open structures. Both extend the company’s hydrophobic cellulose-fiber portfolio.
The company identifies diapers and sanitary pads as applications for the fine fiber. It describes the coarse fiber as particularly suitable for acquisition and distribution layers, where the spaces between fibers help manage liquid flow.
The release concerns component materials, not a named adult-diaper launch. Certifications cited for a range of Lenzing fibers do not establish that an entire finished diaper is biodegradable or compostable.
