EDANA reports lower European nonwovens output in 2025

EDANA released its overview of 2025 nonwovens production in Greater Europe on April 7, 2026. The association reports output of 2.919 million tonnes, a decline of about 2.2 percent from 2024.

Its public summary records a 2.7 percent decline in hygiene-market volume, mainly driven by developments in baby diapers. Spunmelt output fell 3.3 percent, while drylaid output was nearly stable at minus 0.7 percent.

These are regional nonwoven-industry statistics, not adult-incontinence sales figures. Production in tonnes also differs from fabric area: changes in material weight per square metre can affect how the two measures move.
