Brazilian city reports over 16,000 packs of locally made adult diapers

Brazil

Volta Redonda, Brazil, reported on July 13, 2026, that its two municipal diaper factories produced more than 16,000 packs of adult diapers in the first half of the year. The total was 64,276 individual diapers, packed four per bag in size G. Both facilities are administered by the city's Banco da Cidadania social programme.

The Munira Arbex Francisco factory in Voldac produced 9,930 packs, while the Ilda Mamede Ferreira factory in Ponte Alta made 6,139. The municipality reported an average output of 134 packs per day across the two sites during the six-month period.

Monthly deliveries go to five named care and social-support institutions, including Lar dos Velhinhos and the João Miguel da Silva long-term care institution. Production also supplies the municipal social-assistance department, which uses the diapers in emergency support for vulnerable families assisted by its network. City officials described the factories as supporting regular institutional supply and the municipality's social-assistance services.
