Careyn reports incontinence-waste collection at one site and limits elsewhere

Netherlands

Care provider Careyn’s 2025 sustainability report says residents and staff at Bernissesteyn separated more than 6,000 kilograms of incontinence waste during the year.

The site has maintained a separate stream since October 2022. Netwerk N.V. collects the material for treatment at ARN in Weurt, where a plastic fraction is separated for recycling, according to the report.

Careyn also states that waste from its other locations continues to be incinerated with residual waste because a wider separate-treatment route is unavailable. The collection figure is a provider-reported result, not the mass of recycled plastic. The report’s first-publication date is not identified.
