Quanzhou's ecology and environment bureau published approval of an environmental impact report for Banglida (Fujian) New Materials' superabsorbent-polymer relocation and expansion project on August 3, 2026. The approval document was dated July 30. The company's existing polymer products are used in baby diapers, adult diapers and sanitary pads.
The project would move two existing production lines, with combined annual capacity of 50,000 tonnes, to a site in the Quanhui petrochemical industrial park in Hui'an County. Two additional lines would provide another 150,000 tonnes of annual capacity, bringing the four-line project to 200,000 tonnes per year.
Approval requires implementation of pollution-control and environmental-risk measures. Conditions cover air-emission treatment, wastewater collection and treatment, noise control, hazardous-waste handling, soil and groundwater protection, and emergency planning. The company must obtain the required discharge permit before emissions begin and organize environmental acceptance checks after construction. Material changes to the approved project's scale, location, processes or environmental measures would require a new environmental assessment submission.
