Canadian continence-sensor substudy reports staff experiences and practical limitations

Canada

ICS 2025 abstract 260 reports interviews with 14 staff members using a digital continence-care system in Alberta continuing-care facilities. Its scheduled presentation date was September 20, 2025; the abstract’s first publication date is not established.

Staff described both useful monitoring information and practical difficulties, including changing work routines, battery tasks, equipment concerns and feelings of being tracked. These are staff experiences, not directly measured patient treatment effects.

The qualitative substudy identifies trial NCT05247047, also discussed in WDO’s existing Change Indicator trial article. It is not a new independent randomized trial. Essity funding and an Essity-affiliated author are disclosed. The 14 interviewees are staff members, not the number of resident trial participants.
