Verdis announced on May 12, 2026 that construction of its planned diaper-waste treatment plant in Hvidovre, Denmark, had reached a milestone, with a topping-out event scheduled for the following day.
Copenhagen and Frederiksberg are municipal partners. Technology supplier Repaid separately states that the plant is designed for diapers and incontinence products, with an initial capacity of up to 10,000 tonnes annually and operation targeted for January 2027.
The release describes construction progress, not an operating facility. Capacity and recovery claims remain the companies’ projections; the sources do not demonstrate achieved adult-waste throughput or independently measured environmental savings.
