Attends describes a continence-care partnership with Bolton NHS

United Kingdom Attindas Hygiene Partners Attends

Attends published an April 26, 2026, case study describing a change in continence provision at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust after its previous supply contract ended. The review addressed limited access to product samples, restricted product choice and inefficient allocation, alongside the trust's sustainability goals.

The transition included matching existing products to Attends alternatives, preparing product lists for different patient groups and reference guides, and consulting patients about their needs. Attends provided demonstrations and practical training for staff across 34 care homes, district nursing and hospital teams. The company says reassessment supported lower-absorbency products where clinically suitable.

Attends reports annual savings of £35,000, reduced unnecessary product use and no increase in skin-related issues following the transition. Monitoring and reassessment prompts helped track usage. Jo Bond, the trust's Bladder and Bowel Service team lead, describes training and continuing account support as central to implementation. The trust's subsequent plans include continence champions, refresher training and an annual promotion day aligned with World Continence Week.
