Australia sets 2026–27 continence-aids payment at A$739.40

Australia

The Australian Government's Continence Aids Payment Scheme page, updated on June 19, 2026, lists a payment rate of A$739.40 for 2026–27. CAPS helps eligible people meet part of the cost of continence products purchased from a supplier of their choice. Services Australia administers applications and payments, while the health department is responsible for policy.

The page lists basic eligibility requirements including permanent and severe incontinence caused by an eligible neurological or other condition, being at least five years old and Australian citizenship. Applications include a section completed by a doctor or health professional. The initial payment is calculated proportionately from the date a complete application is received, without retrospective payment.

Recipients can choose one annual payment in July or two payments in July and January. Funds go to an Australian bank account belonging to the recipient, a child's custodial parent or an authorized nominee. CAPS payments are excluded from income-tax calculations. Products can be purchased at supermarkets, pharmacies, online or by phone.
