Confitex Technology announced on September 15, 2026, that its washable nonwoven absorbent hygiene products had received an INDEX Award in Geneva in May 2026 and a Hygienix Innovation Award in the United States in November 2025. The New Zealand company describes stabilising absorbent nonwoven materials so they can withstand machine washing and tumble drying. It lists incontinence guards and bed pads among the potential applications, alongside menstrual pads and liners.
According to the release, its reusable nonwoven pads can be washed and tumble dried more than 30 times, contain no superabsorbent polymers and use up to 90 percent bio-based materials. Confitex says Intertek testing found absorption matching or exceeding comparable single-use products. It also reports testing incoming bulk raw materials for PFAS and states that its products meet OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification. The company says it is working with retailers and consumer-goods businesses to introduce the category in Europe and North America. Its manufacturing business supplies private-label retailers, brands and distributors.
