Dosquebradas delivers adult diapers to earthquake-affected families

Colombia

Dosquebradas, Colombia, reported on August 31, 2026, that it had delivered daily-care supplies to 200 rural families affected by an earthquake. The distribution comprised 100 packs of adult diapers, 100 packs of baby diapers and 200 packs of wet wipes. Recipients were previously identified households in the Alto del Nudo and Las Marcadas mountain areas, particularly those caring for older adults, people with reduced mobility, babies or young children.

The municipality says Mayor Roberto Jiménez Naranjo arranged the assistance with the national First Lady's office through Fundación Un Solo Corazón and Tigresas Moviéndose con Corazón. Families collected the supplies directly at the local farmers' market. The account describes diapers as a recurring expense for households reorganising their finances after the earthquake, citing a price range of 40,000 to 180,000 Colombian pesos per pack. It also recounts the collection of diapers on behalf of a 100-year-old woman who needs them continuously.
