Baw Baw Shire Council in Victoria announced on June 12, 2026 that it had expanded an environmental rebate previously limited to compost bins and worm farms. A new category includes reusable sanitary and incontinence products.
For that category, the announcement lists 50% of the purchase price, capped at A$50. Examples include leak-proof underwear and washable incontinence bed or chair pads. The A$100 cap belongs to a different nappies-and-nursing category. This is a local rebate with eligibility conditions; the announcement does not quantify uptake or measured environmental benefits.
The conditions page checked on October 17 limits each category to one claim per resident or household and applications to the financial year of purchase. Funding is limited. The page retains a 2025/26 example, and the remaining budget or actual acceptance of applications was not confirmed.
