Hamamatsu City announced a collection-to-product trial for used diapers on December 13, 2024. The work was intended to test steps towards recycling recovered materials into new products.
Participating care provider Tenryu Kohseikai confirmed that it would supply institutional used diapers. Its notice lists collection in January 2025 and operation of Kurita’s separation equipment between January 15 and 29. Other partners covered collection, household drop-off boxes and material reuse.
The institutional stream distinguishes this trial from an infant-only collection exercise. These notices explain the planned collaboration and timetable; they do not establish the final recovery yield, commercial viability or continuing city-wide service.
