Daio Paper announced on September 14, 2026, that its Attento adult-diaper brand had co-hosted a practical seminar at the 28th annual meeting of the Japanese Society of Pressure Ulcers. Held on September 5 at Hotel Nikko Nara, it brought together 79 hospital and long-term care staff to discuss diaper leakage, skin problems and product application.
The session was chaired by Hiromi Sanada of Ishikawa Prefectural Nursing University. University of Tokyo professor Gojiro Nakagami explained how moisture, bacteria and digestive enzymes contribute to incontinence-associated dermatitis, alongside cleansing, moisturising, protection and collection of bodily waste. Specialist nurses from Kamagaya General Hospital and Gihoku Kosei Hospital described their institutions' pressure-ulcer prevention and continence-care activities, including examples using pads developed through university–industry collaboration.
Attento staff then explained diaper construction, demonstrated absorption and led fitting practice. Products discussed included a pad that directs urine absorption towards the front and a pad designed for loose stools. Daio presented the programme as part of its efforts to reduce the burden on both care recipients and caregivers.
